FKIP News — The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) and the Biology Education Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) have won the Best Management Award for 2024. The recognition was announced during the celebration of Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Alongside the certificate of recognition, they also received an appreciation grant.

According to the Rector’s Decree on the Best Financial Performance Awards for Faculties and Study Programs of UMM in 2024, the Biology Education Program secured first place, while FKIP ranked third. The evaluation process was based on four main criteria: organizational structure and standard operating procedures, financial performance, internal control systems, and general financial findings. The assessments were conducted through an audit by the Internal Supervisory Board (BPI) of UMM.

This marks the third consecutive time the Biology Education Program has achieved first place. The program head emphasized that maintaining top financial performance hinges on consistency and accountability. The program has developed written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for financial management and prepared a Budget Plan (RAB) to guide all expenditures.

“All expenditures are aligned with the SOPs and RAB. If adjustments are needed due to field conditions, we always create an addendum,” explained Prof. Eko, the program head.

He added that transaction documentation is thoroughly maintained by the program treasurer, Fendy Hardian Permana, M.Pd. Financial audits have confirmed that the Biology Education Program provides complete transaction records, organized sequentially and matched with financial recapitulation notes.

Prof. Dr. Abdulkadir Rahardjanto, M.Si., Vice Dean II of FKIP, highlighted the importance of a robust financial recording system. All funds received from the university are allocated according to their category and recorded using a specialized financial accounting software.

“One notable achievement is FKIP's implementation of a separate financial recording system based on fund categories, utilizing software provided by BPI,” Prof. Kadir stated.

He expressed hope that this accomplishment would inspire other study programs within FKIP to improve their financial performance. “This achievement is a mandate for us to continue giving our best. The Biology Education Program has maintained this top position for three consecutive years. Hopefully, FKIP can do the same, and this milestone can encourage other programs to excel,” he concluded.
