FKIP News — The Center of Excellence (CoE) Entrepreneur Perbukuan from the Indonesian Language Education Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) has been crowned the Best Professional Class Center of Excellence for 2024. The award announcement was made during the celebration of the 79th Anniversary of Indonesia's Independence Day at UMM’s helipad on August 17, 2024.

This achievement was formalized through the Decree of the Head of the Center of Excellence Office, No. E.2.a/47/COE-UMM/VI1/2024, regarding the determination of the Best Professional Class Center of Excellence for 2024. The award reflects the outstanding performance of the CoE Entrepreneur Perbukuan across several assessment criteria, including the number of participants, involvement of Workforce Groups (KTW), active participation from the Business and Industry sector (DUDI), as well as social media content creation, compliance in submitting progress reports, completeness of documents, and results of monitoring and evaluation for 2024.

The CoE Entrepreneur Perbukuan has established strong and extensive partnerships with renowned publishers such as Intan Pariwara, Sanggar Aksara, Bentang Pustaka, New Book Store (NBS), Intrans Publishing, and Mata Kata Inspirasi. These collaborations offer students practical experiences through internships with these publishers. Many of the students were even recruited by these companies after completing their internships. This partnership has strengthened the link between academia and industry, providing students with valuable opportunities to apply their knowledge in real-world settings.

The CoE Entrepreneur Perbukuan excelled in all assessment indicators, demonstrating impressive achievements. This success is attributed to the hard work and dedication of the team, led by program coordinator Eggy Fajar Andalas.

Expressing his gratitude, Eggy stated, "We are deeply grateful and proud of this award. It reflects the hard work of the entire team and the support from all involved parties. This achievement is a result of our commitment to continuous innovation and program improvement."

He added that the recognition serves as motivation to grow and innovate further. “This accomplishment inspires us to maintain the same level of enthusiasm and strive even harder. Our immediate target is to expand collaboration networks with national major publishers, providing students with broader experiences,” Eggy said.

Vice Dean I of FKIP UMM, Dr. Sugiarti, M.Si., also expressed her pride in the achievement. "This award is concrete evidence of the dedication and hard work of the CoE Entrepreneur Perbukuan team. We hope this success will motivate other Centers of Excellence at FKIP UMM to enhance their performance," she stated.

This achievement sets a positive trajectory for the further development of programs and future activities. With continued support and a commitment to innovation, the CoE Entrepreneur Perbukuan is expected to make meaningful contributions to the publishing industry and Indonesian language education.
